Our Story

We all have something it seems we’re born knowing how to do and are passionate about doing. For Pastor Willie Lark Sr., with the assistance of his wife Marilyn, serving his community and Barbecuing was near the top of the list.

On August 20, 2019 Lark’s will celebrate 23 years of service to the community. In April, 2012 Pastor Willie Lark, Marvin Raglon, Terry Stokes, and Dr. Leonard Seawood formed a new corporation with each member owning equal shares. They then acquired and renovated the property at 174 W. Main Street in Benton Harbor and opened a full-service restaurant. Most recently, the owners designed and purchased a Concession Trailer capable of producing over seventy (70) perfectly smoked Racks of Ribs and/or combinations of Brisket, Chicken and Rib Tips at a time. The consistent even heat, balanced smoke distribution and exact timing combine to insure that each finished product represents Larks continuing search for “Top Quality” Bar-B-Que.

The business, which began on a small lot just off W. Main Street, has now evolved into a thriving Benton Harbor Community Landmark. It is well known throughout the Southwest Michiana Area. So, if you’re looking for a unique place to take your family for dinner, co-workers out to lunch or searching for a place to pick up a few snacks for this weekend’s game, consider Lark’s… Just look for the red flames on the side of the building on the corner of 8th and West Main Street in Downtown Benton Harbor!
